May 2008 Softball Fundraiser for KDH in Cleveland, Ohio

THANK YOU OHIO!

I would like to send out a thank you from the bottom of my heart(and my family) to Jeanette Howard, the Strongsville High School’s head softball coach and her team of amazing girls! They raised $8053.50 with the help of their community to find a cure for Hodgkins disease. Jeanette is halfway through her 8 cycles of ABVD and I am happy to announce that her tumors are shrinking! Despite the chemotherapy she has been getting, and not feeling 100%, Jeanette has been a pillar of strength and inspiration for her team and her community.

In addition, Kerry Kaser, the head softball coach at Lake High School in Uniontown, Ohio raised $1145. With the help of professional Softball GM, Joey Arietta, they were able to use Akron Firestone Stadium as their playing site. Five teams got together for this event and also need to be recognized: Uniontown Lake, Massillon-Jackson, Massillon, Solon and Hudson Softball Teams.

In total $9198.50 will be given to Dr. Andrew Zelenetz at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for his extensive clinical trial research for a Hodgkins disease cure! I am very lucky to be a patient of Dr. Zelenetz as he uses me to test these trials. By documenting the effects of these clinical trials on my tumors, they may someday become FDA approved standard protocol.

The Fourth Annual Fundraiser

2nd Annual Fundraiser

The Second Annual Fundraiser was held at St. Maggie's Cafe in New York City on November 6th, 2003.  It was a huge success and we raised a sizeable sum of money through ticket sales, silent auction and door prizes.

Inaugural Fundraiser

Our inaugural event was held in New York City on Monday, July 22nd, 2002.It was a huge success and over 200 people turned out to show their support in the fight against Hodgkin's Disease!!

Special thanks go to Stephen Baldwin, Timothy Hutton, Scott Rapoport and the soap stars from All My Children and One Life to Live who came to the event to join the festivities.And the most heartfelt thanks to Jill Robinson, mother of Matthew Terry - the founder of CureHodgkins.Org and The Violet Ribbon Campaign.
